Desk Report:
US President Donald Trump has once again threatened to impose tariffs on various products. This time, he announced that any film made outside the United States will be subject to a 100 percent tariff. He also said that additional tariffs will be imposed on countries that do not manufacture furniture in the United States.
In a post on his social media account Truth Social, President Trump said that the US film industry has been “stolen by other countries, just like children steal chocolate.”
His post also said, “California has suffered greatly due to a weak and incompetent governor. So, to solve this long-standing problem, I am going to impose a 100 percent tariff on any film made outside the United States.”
According to the Bloomberg report, he did not say when the tariff would be imposed. He only said, “Details will be announced later.” However, many concerned people are saying that President Trump is going to impose tariffs again and this time on films and furniture.
Shortly after, in another post, President Trump said, “North Carolina was once famous for its furniture. This business is now completely owned by China and other countries. To make North Carolina great again, I am going to impose tariffs on countries that do not make their furniture in the United States.”
